Little Free Libraries – Free Community Birthday Celebration

BY5 is the leading organization for early childhood awareness in Muncie and Delaware County, Indiana. Through a variety of task force and volunteer efforts, BY5 improves opportunities for children aged 0-5 to reach their developmental potential. BY5’s Little Free Library Task Force is working to empower a joyful culture of literacy by supporting a network of Little Free Libraries in Delaware County, Indiana. Please join BY5 in celebrating the “birth” of the Delaware County Little Free Library Network.

Neighborhood Conversation Series – Building Blocks for Development

Join the Whitely Community Council as they host a series of conversations on What Kids Need to Succeed. Sponsored by BY5 and the United Way of Delaware County the sessions will immediately follow the Whitely Community Council meetings which begin at 6:00 pm at the Muncie Area Career Center. Taking place over the course of four months, the conversations are scheduled for April 13th, May 11th, June 15th and July 13th. Cash prizes will be given to a handful of attendees at each event and those who come to at least three of the four conversations will be eligible for a $500 cash prize. All are welcome to attend!

A mult-session event sponsored by Muncie’s Before 5 (B5) Initiative, this event was designed with families in mind. Information was presented on how to support children and ensure their success. Professionals and experts from a variety of areas were available to assist and answer questions. Topics included: developmental milestones, skills for success, dressing for success, college applications, negotiating with adolescents and more. Other highlights:

The first 100 families registered received free bags of groceries.
