VIDEO: Unmasked: “The stigma of meth” Public Screening-February 6, 2017

There will be a public screening of “Unmasked: The stigma of meth,” a 28-minute documentary, on Monday, February 6, 7:00 pm at the Muncie Civic Theatre. Find this event on Facebook.

This was a semester-long immersive learning project in the Fall of 2016, led by instructors Terry Heifetz and Juli Metzger.  What made this unique was that it was interdisciplinary and cross-platform. Students from various majors (from film studies to TCOM production to Journalism) participated and produced a 28-minute documentary for public television, a series of radio broadcasts for Indiana public radio, a website with podcasts and web video at www.stigmaunmasked.com, and a 40-page high-end, glossy magazine.

Each product (platform) has unique content.

All this was done as part of a Ball Brothers Foundation grant/initiative to take a deep dive into the meth epidemic in Muncie and Delaware County. As you know, DC leads the state for meth lab busts. Our project endeavored to look at what the community was doing to fight the disease and offer some insight into the lives it affects the most.
